Both our Plymouth and St. Louis Park locations serve two age groups, Toddler Community and Children's House.
Toddler Community Program Options
Children, ages 16 – 33 months, may begin their Montessori experience in our Toddler Community. This is a peaceful environment that is designed to encourage independence, language development, practical life skills, and movement in very young children.
| Half-Day | 8:30am – 11:30am |
| All-Day | 8:30am – 3:30pm |
| Extended-Day | 8:00am – 5:00pm |
Children's House Program Options
At 33 months old, children enter the Children's House, or Casa, where they remain until the end of the kindergarten year. The children work together in harmony, due to the nurturing Montessori guide and the prepared environment. The experienced guide and carefully selected materials meet each child's need for purposeful activity and enrichment.
| Half-Day | 8:30am – 11:40am |
| All-Day | 8:30am – 3:30pm |
| Extended-Day | 7:00am – 5:45pm |
The Children's House uses very specific materials in four main areas:
- Practical Life – develops control of movement and gains independence
- Sensorial – speaks to a child's innate sense of order as he/she classifies materials by traits such as size, shape, color, and texture
- Language – provides a wide variety of experiences with spoken and written language
- Mathematics – uses concrete quantities and self-correcting materials
- Additional materials help the child explore history, geography, social studies, science, art, and music.
